About Miguel Andrade Valdez
Multi-disciplinary artist Miguel Andrade Valdez is the co-founder of the design collective Taller Tarapacá, through which he designs objects in wool, wood, and ceramic that merge modern aesthetics with inspiration from Pre-Columbian art and architecture. They collaborate with local artisans and material experts to arrive at new, sustainable interpretations of Pre-Columbian visual cultures.

Andrade Valdez is particularly interested in the Huacas of Perú, and studies how their traditional forms and designs illuminate new possibilities for minimalist and modernist perspectives.
